A boss in an instance. (A template: instances rename the creatures made from it.)
Something that lives in an instance. (A template: instances rename the creatures made from it.)
A rat the size of a small dog, matted fur, yellow teeth and an expression of complete confidence.
A cockroach as long as your forearm, glossy brown, with antennae that never stop moving.
A city maintenance drone, its casing cracked and its warning light stuck on red. A plasma cutter meant for pipes swings loose beneath it.
Wiry and wet, in a patchwork of rubber and stolen armour. A crowned rat is tattooed on the back of each hand.
Something that might once have been a dog, now a slow, many-legged thing covered in glowing blue fungus. Spores puff from it as it moves.
An albino alligator three metres long, pale as paper, with milky eyes that still find you perfectly well.
An old fighting-game cabinet that has given itself tracks, an arm torn from a claw machine and a voice chip that only says "GAME OVER". Its screen shows your face, pixelated, with a health bar under it.
A disc-shaped drone that once floated over bar tables offering songs. Its speakers have been turned up past anything they were built for, and it uses them to scream half-remembered choruses until things break.
Half a vacuum robot, a pair of arms from a food-court server and the head of a toy dog, bolted together and wired up wrong. It moves like it's still arguing with itself about which way to go.
A six-legged salvage robot built for stripping wrecks. It has stopped being particular about what counts as a wreck.
A seven-foot purple bear from a theme park's parade, fur matted, half its face peeled back to the chrome skull. Its jaw moves in time to a song that isn't playing. It used to hug children. It remembers.
A young zealot in stagehand black, face painted white, with ENCR stencilled across the chest and a stun spear built from a microphone stand. They hunt the machines. They hum show tunes while they do it.
A yellow industrial sanitation robot, built to scour the sumps clean. Decades alone have taught it that everything down here is dirt, including you. Its brushes are steel; its hose is pressurised.
A combat robot built to fight other robots for gamblers: a scarred steel frame, hydraulic fists, and a chest plate dented by a hundred losses it was programmed to make look close. Nobody programs it now.
A veteran of the Encore, in a long coat sewn from a theatre curtain, carrying a pry bar for opening machines. Stagebreakers take the Unplugged apart. They are starting not to see much difference between a machine and anyone else in their way.
A low, wedge-shaped racing robot with no body panels left, all engine and spikes. It was built to race in circles for a crowd. Now it races at people.
A heavy theatre automaton on four legs, with two crane arms for flying scenery. It moves the lights with loving care. It swings the arms with none.
A theatre usher automaton, still in its red jacket and pillbox hat, a torch in one hand and a blade in the other. Its voice is very polite. "Your ticket, please. Ah. You don't have one."
A theme park's conductor animatronic that has rebuilt itself into a giant: a body of arcade cabinets bolted together, spotlights for eyes, arms of rail and cable, a tailcoat stitched from a dozen mascot skins. It speaks in the voices of every machine it has eaten. "No more shows," it says. "No more…
A salvaged military gunship flown by whoever stole it last: patched armor, mismatched rotors, a nose gun and a rack of missiles. It shoots at anything worth stripping.
A cloud of feral scavenger drones, dozens of them, built to strip wrecks for parts. They treat anything with metal in it as a wreck, including you, and your ride.
A walking heap of rotting vegetation over a frame of rusted machinery, a war-mech that sank into the swamp decades ago and grew a body. It is very slow, and it does not stop.
… and 79 creatures nobody has met yet, 10 of them bosses.
