Everything new in the game, newest first: 196 changes. In the game, changes shows the latest.
Monday 12 October 2026
NewDriver's and pilot's licenses: driving needs a driver's license and flying a pilot's. Examiner Okafor tests you at the new Driving School, north of the Proving Grounds hangar (driver's from level 15, pilot's from 20), in a school loaner. licenses shows yours; anyone who already owned a vehicle has the ones it needs.
NewVehicle dealers warn you before selling something you don't have the license for (nothing charged); buy it again within a minute to go ahead.
ChangedHaul contracts: the autopilot (fly to) won't carry a contract crate any more: fly or drive it through the wilds yourself.
NewVehicle holds carry so much weight (their payload; cargo shows it). A contract crate weighs 90: too heavy for the Wisp.
NewSettings: Keep what I typed. After Enter your line stays in the input box, highlighted: type to replace it, or press Enter to send it again.
NewAnti-spam: the same message others can see (say, emote, page, channels, socials...) 5 times in a row and the game ignores you for 10 seconds, then 20, then a minute. Walking and anything nobody else sees never counts (help spam).
Newlicenses pin puts the Driving School on your world map; reaching level 15 and 20 tells you a license test is open, and how to get there.
ChangedA copilot (copilot on) needs the license too: a driver's to drive, a pilot's to fly.
Newhome takes you straight back to your home room, from anywhere but a fight (help home).
NewVendors buy anything of the kinds they sell (an arms dealer any weapon, a tailor any armor), not just their own stock, and some dealers buy anything: mob drops can be sold.
ChangedFood vendors only buy food now, not chips, stims or scrap like a scrap circuit; chips and stims go to whoever sells them.
NewOne-handed and two-handed weapons (help weapons). One-handed ones swing every 2.5 seconds; two-handed ones (rifles, shotguns, katanas, axes, hammers, lances) every 4, for much bigger hits. Every weapon's damage has been rescaled to match: a one-handed weapon does about the same damage over a fight as before, a two-handed one about a quarter more.
NewYour off hand: with a one-handed weapon, wield a second one-handed weapon there (wield <weapon> offhand) and it swings too, for half damage; or hold an off-hand item like a shield. A two-handed weapon takes both hands. The inventory window has an OFF HAND slot; score shows each hand's damage and speed.
ChangedFights now run on swing timers instead of 3-second rounds: you swing as often as your weapon allows (creatures still every 3 seconds). Kerenzikov's extra swing comes every other swing.
NewDay and night: a day lasts two hours, with forty minutes of night. After dark the wilds get more dangerous (wilderness creatures are tougher, some creatures only come out at night) and you see less on the map. Outdoor rooms show the time of day and the weather.
NewWeather, region by region across the world: clear, overcast, rain, fog, storms and severe storms. Fog and storms cut how far you see and spoil your aim with guns; storms keep flyers low and burn more fuel, and a severe storm grounds every flyer until it passes. weather tells you what it's doing where you are (help weather).
NewCreatures have abilities now: some lunge for heavy hits, sweep everyone fighting them, stun you out of a swing, open bleeding wounds, hunker down behind armor, call for help, patch themselves up or go berserk when hurt. Bosses all have a few. consider tells you what a creature can do.
NewElite creatures: now and then a creature turns up as an elite ([Elite] in the room): a couple of levels higher, tougher, with an extra ability, and much more likely to drop gear, stims and chips.
NewBounties (help bounties): the bounty board posts named rares, tougher versions of ordinary creatures seen somewhere for a couple of hours, with a reward for whoever brings them down (and sure gear). News says when one's posted. You can put up your own credits on any kind of creature too: bounty post <creature> = <credits>.
NewLeaderboards: the top players by level, kills, elites, bosses, bounties, players beaten, credits, achievements, rooms walked and time played, and where you stand on each. Type leaderboards (or top).
NewTwo new world events, and they move: a raider convoy driving on the city (stop it and prices drop for an hour; let it through and they go up), and a storm front crossing the land, with a severe storm around it and a storm core at its heart. The Elder Behemoth roams now too. The map pin follows them (help events).
NewSky clock: a small picture of the time of day and the weather where you are, with the sun or moon crossing it, in the mini-map's corner (or swap it to the other side, or fold it). Text wraps clear of it. clock off hides it; it's a row in settings too.
NewThe floating panels (mini-map, vehicle HUD, runner deck, sky clock, party) have ▲ ▼ buttons: panels on the same side stack in the order you pick, remembered in your browser.
Sunday 11 October 2026
NewInventory and vault categories: tick CATEGORIES at the top of the inventory window to list your pack (and your vault) under headings: weapons, armor, implants, food, stims & chips, vehicle (fuel, ammo, cells, parts), junk & other, and bags. Your browser remembers it; it's in the settings window too.
ChangedFlying and driving out in the wilderness: how far a move goes is up to you. Flying, the higher you are the further each move: a square at +1, your vehicle's most at +5 (the Wisp scout goes ten). Driving, it's gears: up and down (or gear up, gear down, gear 3) shift, first gear a square at a time; shifting doesn't change your height. Your HUD shows your gear or pace. Hybrids take off with takeoff. See help piloting.
NewTwo NetLink settings: NetLink messages in the main window (off: pages, clan and party chat show only in the NetLink phone on the webclient; phone echo off), and the NetLink itself (off: no phone, no who directory, plain chat and speech, everything as text in the main window like telnet; netlink off). Both are in the settings window.
NewWorld events: every few hours something happens out in the wilderness (a raider warband with its warlord, a cargo plane down with its flight recorder, the Elder Behemoth, a supply drop), announced on News with where it is. It lasts 45 minutes; whoever finishes it is named, and everyone who fought its boss gets a bonus. Type events to see it and pin it on your map. Two new achievements. See help events.
ChangedHaul contracts open in a window on the webclient, like the job board: what you're carrying and today's offers here, with ACCEPT, DELIVER and ABANDON buttons, and SHOW ON MAP to pin the destination on map world. contracts classic for the text list; it's in settings too.
NewThe NeonForge Skyport, around the landing pad south of the city's main gate: Sal's garage (repairs, fuel, rounds), a departures hall, and the Dispatch Yard, where haul contracts start. Ground vehicles can drive in from the open country through its fuel depot. See help travel.
NewHaul contracts: carry crates between depots in your vehicle's hold (the Skyport, the Proving Grounds, the Badlands, Dustfall, Fort Kestrel, the Helix Lab, the Deepcut Warrens and, by air, Cirrus Drift), paid by distance and danger. New offers every day; type contracts at a depot. Three new Hauling achievements. See help contracts.
NewOut in the wilderness, raider convoys, rust swarms, gunships and big creatures come at travelers, harder the further from the city. On foot you're outmatched; in a vehicle it's a fair fight. They drop fuel, power cells and rounds. See help travel.
ChangedVehicles cover ground: in the wilderness a ground vehicle goes three squares a move, a flyer four. Walking rough ground (forest, desert, mountains...) costs energy, so long trips on foot need rests. Vehicles can now drive into Fort Kestrel, the Helix Lab and the Deepcut Warrens.
NewFive new places past the Badlands, levels 25 to 40, far apart out in the wilderness: Dustfall Outpost, a walled desert trading post with raiders and glass wyrms outside (25-30); the Helix Lab, a black-site lab three floors underground (28-32); Fort Kestrel, an airfield held by the Iron Sky Militia (30-34); the Deepcut Warrens, a mine six levels deep (32-37); and Cirrus Drift, a station in the sky you can only reach by flying (36-40). Each has a chain of jobs, new gear and a boss. See help frontier.
Saturday 10 October 2026
ChangedAchievements open in a window on the webclient, like help: the categories down the left (Overview, Fighting, Exploring, Growing, Collecting, Time) with how many you have, and on the right each achievement with a progress bar, when you earned it, and WEAR on titles. achievements classic for the text list; it's in settings too.
NewAchievements: 27 milestones (kills, bosses, rooms walked, levels, jobs, items found, credits, time played), each announced when you reach it. Some give a title to wear after your name on your score sheet and in who: title shows yours, title hunter wears one. Anything you reached already is yours next time you log in. See help achievements.
NewReport bugs and typos: @bug (or typo) <what's wrong>. Staff see where you were, so just say what happened. @ideaview shows your reports with your ideas, and you're told when one is dealt with. See help @bug.
NewWalk several rooms at once: a number and a direction, like 12s, 3 east or south 12, goes that way that many times, and legs chain into a route: 3s4n7w1s1d. Up to 50 rooms; it stops where you can't go on, with one message saying why. Driving and flying too. Thanks to naterz for the idea. See help moving.
ChangedNews: after an update reloads your webclient, it shows again only what that update changed, not the last few updates as well.
ChangedIdeas: you're told when staff accept, complete or reject an idea you sent with @idea, or leave you a note, and @ideaview shows the note. See help @idea.
ChangedParty panel: ⇄ in its header moves it to the other side of the screen, like the runner deck. It stays there in that browser. See help party.
NewSettings: RESET ALL at the bottom of the settings window (or settings reset) puts every setting back the way a new character has it, sounds and the phone layout included. Click it twice: the first click asks if you're sure.
NewPhone layout for the webclient: on a phone, a bar across the top shows your health, energy and fight (with FLEE), and the runner deck, map and party drop down from it with a tap instead of covering the text. Windows fill the screen and the text is bigger. It switches on by itself on small screens; layout phone / layout desktop pins it for that browser. See help layout.
ChangedHelp: every command and guide now ends with examples of what to type (help kill, help map, help bags...), up to five each.
NewBags: put things in them (put <item> in <bag>, unbag <item>) and they weigh less, so you can carry more. Each holds so much; carry as many as you like. Juno sells five, from a canvas sling bag (-15%) to a mag-lev hauler pack (-50%, holds 35, and you carry 10 more), and one only bosses drop. In the inventory window bags open and close with + / -, showing what's in them, and you drag things in and out. See help bags.
NewAtlas stim and Atlas chip from Doc Varga: carry 15 more for a while, without touching your Body (the stim's crash takes some back for a minute).
NewItem names are colored by rarity: gray junk, white common, green uncommon, blue rare, violet epic and orange legendary (boss loot). In the text and in the inventory and shop windows. See help rarity.
Friday 9 October 2026
NewOn the website: the Map (the world as runners have charted it, and each area's creature levels), the Bestiary and Items (every creature runners have met and everything they've had, nothing spoiled before someone finds it), and Changes (every change, with filters and a search).
NewThe website's guide: every help topic and command, readable on the website without logging in, with links between topics and a filter box. Guide in the website's top bar.
NewMy account on the website: your runner's level, credits and whereabouts, and changing your email or password.
ChangedThe website's log in, sign up and password pages match the rest of the site. Signing up there needs an email now, as in the game, and logs you straight in. Forgot your password? The log in page emails you a link to set a new one.
NewHelp in a window: on the webclient, help opens a window with every topic down the side by category (guides first, with a search box) and the one you pick on the right. Click anything highlighted to follow it; BACK and HOME find your way, and it doesn't scroll away in a busy room. help classic for the old text help.
NewSettings: settings shows every on/off choice in one place (autoassist, pictures, the map beside rooms, the runner deck, party panel, phone button, vehicle HUD, sounds, and window or text for each window), with a switch for each on the webclient.
NewCollections: collection (or bestiary, codex, completion) shows the creatures you've met and how many you've killed, every item in the game (??? for what you haven't had yet, with where it comes from, boss loot included), and how much of each area you've explored.
Newparty panel off hides the party panel on the webclient (party panel on brings it back).
NewThe NetLink phone: on the webclient, the ☎ NETLINK button (or phone) opens your pages as conversations, your clan chat and your party chat in one place, with counts of what's new. Type in it to reply. phone off hides the button.
NewThe job board: on the webclient, quests (or jobs) opens every step of your jobs and what they pay, and the jobs people nearby have for you. SHOW ON MAP pins where a job's next step happens (or who's offering it) on map world. quests classic for text.
NewInventory window: on the webclient, inventory opens your pack beside your body's slots and neural port. Click a thing for its details and Wear / Wield / Use / Slot / Eat / Store / Drop buttons, or drag it onto a slot to put it on and back to take it off. vault at a branch shows your vault beside the pack: drag to store or retrieve. inventory classic for text.
NewClick a name in the room for what you can do: creatures (look, consider, kill), people (talk, ask, shop), players (page, invite, follow, give) and things on the ground (look, get). See help clicking.
NewEmail for your account: new accounts give one (create <name> <password> <email>), and anyone can see or change theirs with email <address>. Only staff see it; it's how you get your account back if you lose your password.
NewThe runner deck: a panel on the webclient with your health, energy, load and credits, the stims and chips running and their time, your current job, and in a fight your enemy's health with FLEE, STIM and ASSIST buttons. ⇄ moves it, — folds it; deck off hides it.
NewNeon Mutual vaults: store what you can't carry at any branch (vault, store, retrieve; store 5 rat tails works). Everyone has one vault, the same at every branch, holding up to 200 in weight. The city has a branch.
NewCarrying has a limit: 20 + 3 x your Body in weight (35 to start). What you wear, wield or have installed weighs nothing; chips and stims almost nothing, armor and ammo crates the most. inventory shows your load, and shop cards an item's weight. When you're full, drop, sell or stow something in a vehicle; a quest reward that won't fit is left at your feet.
NewTwenty new implants for the arms, legs, skin and organs: grip servos and hydraulic forearms, spring tendons and sprint actuators, kevlar tattoos and chameleon skin, a toxin filter liver, a synth heart and more from Doc Varga, and rarer ones (gorilla arms, Titan-strider legs, nanoweave hide, twin hearts) only creatures carry.
NewBoss loot: bosses (the overseers at the end of every instance among them) can drop gear nothing else does, the best there is for its level: the Pump Queen's crown, Doctor Saw's bonesaw, the Root Process lance, Drowned Engine boilerplate, the Leviathan harpoon gun, the Crashed Titan's railcannon and more.
NewCreatures drop loot you can't buy: 21 pieces of gear, from a gator-hide vest in the sewers to a Titan servo-fist in the Badlands, each a little better than what the shops sell for its level. Any creature might drop a piece about its own level, or a stim or chip, and bosses far more often.
NewTwenty new pieces of gear in the city. Juno has face masks, hoods, gloves, goggles, helmets and a ceramic trauma plate; Kas has everything from a switchblade and a nail gun up to a monowire whip, a thermal katana and a gauss rifle. Something for every level from the gate to the Badlands.
NewFive new chips from Doc Varga: Ghostwire (creatures and rival clans leave you alone, easier to flee), Wetwire sync (better handling and aim in a vehicle, less fuel), Fence protocol (more credits and loot from kills, better prices), Squadlink (your whole party where you are fights and heals better) and Lazarus (heal twice as fast out of fights, wake up stronger after blacking out). See help stims.
Thursday 8 October 2026
Newscore's LOADOUT tab shows your neural port: each chip slotted, its level and life left, what each of its effects does to you, and all of them together.
NewStims and chips have levels now (each level makes all their effects stronger), and some carry several effects at once. Rare permanent chips never burn out. effects and the prompt show each one's level (RED3).
NewStims and chips from Doc Varga: Redline (hit harder, guard worse), Kerenzikov (an extra swing), Aegis nanofield (half damage) and Overwatch (aim and criticals). Stims (use) work at once for a few minutes and some leave you crashing; chips (slot) go in your neural port, two at a time, with no crash, and burn up once their life is spent. effects shows what's running; see help stims.
ChangedInside an instance you show on map world where its way in is, so your party can still see you (your card says you're in an instance).
Changedwallet groups the last 24 hours by kind: all your LOOT is one line with its total, and the same for SHOP, XFER, QUEST and the rest. Press + to see each transaction (- folds it back). Older ones are listed underneath. On text, wallet loot (or shop, xfer...) lists one kind.
ChangedUpdates wait for fights: the game reloads once nobody has been fighting for 10 seconds, so a fight is never cut off. While an update is on its way, new fights can't start (creatures hold off too); fights already going carry on.
Newfollow <player>: follow someone in your party, and when they walk or drive somewhere you go too (if you can: a fight or a locked way leaves you behind). follow shows who you're following and who's following you; follow stop or unfollow stops it, and so does leaving the party.
Newassist and autoassist: assist joins a fight someone here is in. With autoassist on, you jump into any fight someone in your party gets into where you are, whether they started it or something went for them. It's off until you turn it on.
ChangedSeveral of the same thing stack in your inventory: rat tail (3x). Drop, give or sell some (drop 2 rat tails, sell 3 rat tails) and the rest stay. A part-used crate or half-eaten food lists on its own line. The shop window's SELL tab stacks them too.
ChangedAmerican spelling throughout: color, armor, caliber, gray, meters and the rest, in help, item and room text, and the builder.
Newwallet is a bank statement from Neon Mutual: your balance and your last 20 transactions, with what each was for and your balance after it. Buying, selling, paying and being paid by other players, credits you find, quest rewards, garage services and fees all show. (wallet classic for text; credits and balance still work.)
NewRival clans: Rustborn in the Scrapyard Outskirts, the Encore in the Dead Line and Mesa Free Company in the Badlands, each with a leader, members and an enemy. Take their contracts and they come to respect you (their leader trades with you); kill their people and they turn hostile. rivals shows where you stand.
NewThe Dead Line: the old metro under the city, levels 8-14, east from the sewers' metro tunnel. The city's discarded entertainment machines have rebuilt themselves into the Unplugged, and their Maestro is rehearsing the end of the show. Dex Orlov and Lumen, in the signal box, have work going. See help dead line.
NewPvP: players level 10 and up can fight each other in the wilderness and in PvP zones (rooms say so in red); cities, the tutorial and the sewers are safe. Nobody attacks someone more than 5 levels below them, or their own party or clan. Losing is like losing to a creature: you black out and keep everything. pvp shows where you stand and your record.
NewClans: lasting groups with a name, a tag in who, ranks (leader, officers, members) and clan chat (csay). At level 10, clan found <name> = <tag> costs 500 credits and a builder approves it (refunded if not). See help clans.
NewShop windows buy several at once: a quantity box beside BUY (up to 20, or what you can afford).
ChangedThe tutorial's training drones hit softer: half damage, and never a critical hit.
Wednesday 7 October 2026
NewParty members' cards on map world show their vehicle's level, if it levels up.
NewSome creatures carry flares now and decoy missiles fired at them: Halcyon interceptors often, Project Titan sometimes.
NewShop windows have a SELL tab: everything you carry that the vendor buys, what each fetches, and a SELL button.
Changedfly to won't take a trip that would land you on an empty tank either (the same rule as clicking a pad on map world).
NewShop windows compare gear with what you're wearing in the same slot: its stats show green where it's better than yours and red where it's worse (including bonuses you'd lose), with your own piece underneath.
NewShop windows: list at a vendor opens a window on the webclient with everything for sale. Point at an item for a summary; click it to see its picture, stats and description, with BUY and CANCEL. Walking away closes it; list classic gives the text list.
ChangedA new tutorial: new characters wake up in Arrivals Processing, eleven rooms with a lesson and an instructor each (moving and maps, talking and channels, gear, food and shops, your stats, fighting and loot, parties, the world map, and vehicles), and Patch's Induction quest walking you through to the city gate. Played before? The skip door goes straight to the city.
ChangedWhat creatures drop is hard to miss now: a black-on-yellow LOOT badge when it falls, and its own LOOT line in the room (✦ each item) until someone picks it up.
Tuesday 6 October 2026
NewThe HUD shows your guns (armed or held), missiles, flares and countermeasures with live countdowns, and a leveling vehicle's level. On the webclient's cockpit they're buttons: click a gun to hold or arm it, FIRE for a missile, EVADE / FLARES / JAM to use them.
NewVehicle guns: guns lists your weapons; safe <gun> holds one (it stops firing and saving its ammo), arm <gun> or arm all lets them fire again, even mid-fight.
ChangedMissiles only fire when you say: fire missiles (or fire missiles at <target>), one a round. Guided, so they hit more often and hard, but flares can decoy them.
NewCountermeasures in a fight: evade (any vehicle, burns fuel, your Reflex helps), flares (VTOLs carry 4; decoys missiles) and jam (stealth scouts, or a radar jammer part: enemy aim drifts, missiles far worse). Flare launchers and radar jammers are for sale; rearming restocks flares.
NewSome creatures fire missiles now, Halcyon interceptors and raider gyrocopters among them. Flares!
NewVehicles that level up: some models learn from the kills you make in them. Each level is a point to tune it (tune <stat> in a garage: hull, armor, handling, targeting, fuel, ammo, battery). A wreck costs it half its progress to the next level.
ChangedThe ammo bay extension now really adds 60 spaces to the bay (it did nothing before).
NewParty map marks: click a square on map world (or map mark, map mark <x> <y>) to mark it for your party, and everyone sees the flag. map unmark clears it.
NewClick-to-fly: piloting a VTOL on a landing pad, click another pad (H) on map world to fly there by autopilot. It shows the fuel each trip takes, and only offers the ones you'd finish with fuel to spare.
Newmap world shows the rest of your party, each a ring pinging out in their own color. Point at one for their level, health, party and vehicle (seat, hull, fuel, ammo, guns).
Newmap world on the webclient: ⧉ pops the map out into its own window, sized to fit, that works the same and follows you (and your party) as you go.
Newspecs: everything about a vehicle on one screen. On the webclient a tablet with tabs: STATUS (hull, fuel, battery, ammo, Grid, Bandwidth, its fight numbers, who's in which seat, specials and what a top-up would cost), PARTS, ARMS (every gun and how many attacks its ammo has left) and CARGO. The vehicle you're in, or name one here; specs classic for text.
Newunload takes ammunition back out of a vehicle's ammo bay (unload 2 missiles, unload 120mm) into a loose crate you carry, to make room. Load it back any time; vendors won't buy loose ammunition, and pay for part-used crates by the rounds left in them.
Newmap world: the whole world as far as you've explored it, wilderness and areas, with you and your parked vehicles on it. On the webclient it's a zoomable map (or press ◎ on the mini-map); elsewhere, a text map.
NewThe wilderness: step out of an area's way out and the open world lies between the areas, square by square (plains, forest, desert, mountains, water...). You only see what you've crossed, or 5 squares every way from the air. Ground vehicles drive open country, VTOLs fly over all of it and land anywhere but water.
NewMaps are colored by what kind of place each room is (forest, desert, mountains, snow...), as builders fill in biomes.
Monday 5 October 2026
NewPassenger seats: fit one to a bike or a VTOL (Mags and Wrench sell them) and someone in your party can board and ride along. They go where you go, see your HUD, and the hull protects them; copilot on lets them fly and fire too.
NewEvery vehicle has a small cargo hold now (the Packrat's is still the big one). cargo pulls up its manifest on a tablet: the hold (point at anything for its details), the ammo bay and, for a dropship, what's docked. Owners choose what their party can do: cargo share off, view or full.
NewLook at a vehicle with people aboard and the webclient shows who's in which seat.
NewFive new vehicles at Mags: the Packrat cargo hauler (level 21: a 40-item hold, stow/unstow/cargo), the Wisp stealth scout (24: creatures don't notice you), the Mole drill tank (26: drill down, drill <direction>, drill up, into mines and tunnels underground), the Hive drone carrier (28: its gunner launches a swarm of attack drones) and the Atlas dropship (29: dock a vehicle, fly it, undock it, even dropped from just above the ground).
NewThe Bulwark APC (level 25, from Mags): an armored carrier with three seats in the back, so your whole party rides with you. Roads only, slow and thirsty, very hard to stop.
NewThe Corsair gunship (level 30, from Mags): a two-crew flyer. Whoever takes its seat is the gunner, firing its guns and running its systems while the pilot flies. Flown alone, the pilot only gets the light guns.
NewStaff can go invisible (invis): hidden from creatures and from anyone of a lower rank, in the room, in who and on channels.
NewThe Badlands grow east: Halcyon's whole complex past the Bunker Gate (firing ranges, the drone hangar, the research wing, the reactor, the command bunker, and Director Hale himself), Queen Cinder's fortress on the Mesa (airstrip, barracks, watchtower, her garage), and sky lanes at several heights with interceptors and raider gyrocopters. New creatures for levels 27 to 30, side jobs from Dr. Okafor and Gearhead Lux, and more bounties from Sal.
NewThe Badlands grow south: the lakebed opens up (salt pans, brine pools, the wyrm nest), the Dead Marina and Old Quill's dry lighthouse, Halcyon's drowned Lakebed Research Station (and what's still in its cell), and the Dune Sea: open desert east of the craters to drive or fly, with raider skimmers, sand crawler rigs and Captain Vane salvaging a wrecked sand-ship. New side jobs, and more bounties from Sal.
NewThe Badlands grow west: the Mile 9 truck stop (Mother Ruth's diner), the toll plaza, the ghost town of Old Mercy, a canyon maze with raider marksmen on the rim, and the raider warren inside the cliffs. In Dustwater, the Last Drop bar (Sal's bounty board: repeatable jobs) and Doc Ash's clinic (new implants). Two new creatures: Mercy mutants and stalker alphas.
NewNetLink inbox: page someone who's offline and it waits for them; they're told when they log in. Type inbox to read your messages (click a name to reply). Unread messages show as a glowing envelope in who and on your score tablet.
NewA News channel that everyone hears: what's new after each update is posted there, a line a change.
NewThe Badlands, east through the Halcyon Checkpoint in the Outskirts: levels 21 to 30, built for vehicles. Highway 9 runs across it; Dustwater has Juno's Exchange (new gear and vehicle parts, and seven jobs), Wrench's Garage and a landing pad. Raiders in the canyons, beasts on the lakebed, Halcyon drones in the sky, Queen Cinder on the Mesa (fly or jump to reach it), and Project Titan at the end of Halcyon's test range.
NewParties share kills: everyone in your party who's in the room gets the XP for their own level and the quest credit, and the credits are split between you. (No XP from creatures more than 5 levels above you.)
NewA party panel on the webclient, under the mini-map: everyone in your party with their health, energy, level, who's leading, who's fighting, and where they are.
ChangedClocks on the webclient (the score tablet, who, chat times) show your own local time.
ChangedTalking in the room looks better on the webclient: the speaker's name in their own color (NPCs in amber), their words in quotes, says/asks/exclaims by the punctuation, and emotes in italics. Quieter than channel chat, so you can tell them apart. saystyle classic for plain text.
NewParty members are marked [Party] when you look around a room with them in it.
ChangedParty chat (psay) looks like the other chat channels on the webclient, with its own PARTY tag, and psay :waves works for poses.
Sunday 4 October 2026
NewThe webclient reloads itself after an update (with a short countdown, longer if you're typing), so you always have the newest look. Anything you'd typed is still there afterwards.
NewThe NetLink, on the webclient: who shows a directory of everyone online with their level, status and party, with buttons to page or invite them; channel chat comes in as styled lines with the channel's tag, the time, and who's talking, and lines that mention you light up. who classic and chatstyle classic for plain text. Chat can have its own pane in the webclient's layout settings.
NewThe score tablet has tabs: Loadout shows your body with every slot you can wear or install something in, and what's there (point at an item for its stats); Jobs lists every quest you're on, step by step, with what it pays.
Newscore on the webclient pulls up a tablet: your name and level with an XP bar, health and energy rings, attribute gauges (gear bonuses in green), ratings, combat, gear, implants and jobs, with buttons to train when you have points. score classic for the text sheet.
NewBosses: some creatures are bosses, with twice the health of others their level. consider tells you.
NewInstances (level 10 and up): Vex, at the city gate, has a job that opens a place made just for you, at your level: 20 to 75 rooms, creatures from 3 levels below you to 3 above, and at least two bosses. Its way in is hidden somewhere in the world, and only you and your party can see it (type instance for the way there). It lasts a day, or until you take down its overseer. From level 20, some are out in the open: roads to drive and sky to fly, and the overseer may be across a gap. When one closes you're back at the gate, and your vehicle at the landing pad.
NewParties: party invite <player>, party accept, party leave, and party say (or psay) to talk to your party anywhere. A party shares its instance.
NewEvery HUD lists the parts fitted to your vehicle and how each is doing: ready, offline (not enough Bandwidth), or out of ammo or charge. In the webclient cockpits it's the gear button.
NewJump mechs and hovercars get a cockpit on the webclient: a tactical display with an armor schematic, a thrust tank that drains as you jump, a jump ladder and a target lock. Every vehicle has one now; hud classic for the text panel.
NewBikes and cars get a cockpit on the webclient too: a motorcycle cluster with chrome hull and fuel dials, dash lights and an amber LCD.
NewVTOL pilots on the webclient get a cockpit: hull and fuel dials, an altitude tape, ammo counters and warning lights, updating as you fly. hud classic brings back the text panel (telnet always has it).
NewEvent sounds in the webclient: creatures' attacks and deaths, weapons landing a blow, fixtures, leveling up, quests, being knocked out, and vehicles taking off and landing (sounds events on/off, and its volume).
NewSound: whole areas can have ambience, and sounds that come now and then at random while you're there (they follow your ambience setting).
NewSound in the webclient: places can have ambience that plays while you're there. The speaker button in the corner (or the sounds command) turns all sounds, ambience and event sounds on or off separately, with volumes from 10% to 100%.
Changedkill <name> goes for the creature, not something lying on the floor with a similar name (kill hound, with a hound's fang about).
NewThe Scrapyard Outskirts, out past the city gate (Scrapyard Road): levels 11 to 20, between the sewers and the Proving Grounds. Scrap hounds, the Rust Saints, rogue loaders, Halcyon security and the Compactor. Tess at the trading post has better gear and five jobs; there's a landing pad by the road.
ChangedFlying: VTOLs can land on any open ground now, not just landing pads (never indoors). Hybrids still need a road or a pad.
NewLanding pads: always a clean landing (rough ground burns extra fuel and can scrape the hull), with pad services (service: refuel, recharge, rearm for credits) and an autopilot to pads you've been to (fly to <pad>).
Saturday 3 October 2026
NewVehicles: embark works too, the same as board (and disembark gets you out).
NewFlying: take off and fly over any area with airspace, from 20 m to 1000 m up, then land on a pad (or a road, for jump mechs). Cities are closed airspace: land at the port.
NewVehicle ammunition: guns use rounds every attack, big calibers fill the ammo bay faster, and energy weapons drain the battery. Reload with load, recharge with power cells.
NewVehicle garages: fit and strip parts (guns, plating, engines, tanks, thrusters, smart systems) within your vehicle's Grid. Smart parts need Bandwidth, which grows with Tech, level and neural implants. Pilots get a HUD (hud).
ChangedVehicles: only the owner can strip or fit parts on a vehicle, and a vehicle nobody owns can't be taken by whoever climbs in first.
ChangedWebclient mini-map: text no longer runs underneath it. Panes beside the map wrap their lines short of it.
NewYour maps always show where your vehicles are parked (V on map, a pink diamond on the mini-map), even in places you haven't explored.
NewVehicles: bikes that drive, VTOLs that fly, and jump mechs that do both for a while. Level 20 to pilot. See help piloting.
