takeoff
also: fly, liftoff
Take off into the airspace above you, or let the autopilot fly you to a pad.
Usage:
takeoff (or fly)
fly to the landing pads you've been to, and what it takes
fly to <pad> autopilot, from a pad to that pad (air vehicles;
not with a contract crate aboard)
Then fly with directions (north, up, down...): over the rooms below, as
high as the area's airspace and your vehicle allow (help piloting).
land, or down from just above, sets you down again.
Hybrids (jump mechs, hovercars) fly on thrust: every move in the air uses
a point, and it refills on the ground. Run out in the sky and you crash,
harder the higher you were. Air vehicles (VTOLs) don't drive at all; they
take off from and land on any open ground (not indoors).
The autopilot costs a point of fuel a map square (the longer way), or
15 between areas, and only flies between pads you've been to.
